Hi, everybody.
As far back as I can remember, I’ve loved assembling and playing with models. One of my early memories is of getting a ridiculously dangerous toy that was somehow considered suitable for kids. I think I was six. It had a hot plate – I’m talking egg-frying hot – and I’d put a sheet of plastic in a hinged frame, heat it over the plate until it sagged, and then flip the frame over onto a little mold of a car. Then I’d vigorously pump a handle to suck the air out. The plastic would conform to the shape of the mold, and I would have half of a model car. Repeat for the other half. There were no safeguards of any kind. The kit included several colors of paints. I never once played with that thing without burning myself, plus my mom took the paints away after I spilled some on the living room carpet. Good times.
Cut to several decades later, and I’m still playing with toys. When I was nearing retirement, a colleague suggested that I start a website and post time-lapse videos of the process. I thought that was a pretty good idea, so here we are. I’m still a novice at videography, and I’m excited to be on this new journey.
Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you enjoy these videos.
